A Week In The Life Of

Me! Of course it'll be about me. Would be a bit weird if it was someone else don't you think? I will say sorry, I have been very busy this past week just with life and stuff - you know how it is. I have also been putting a lot of time into the research for the story behind Dante's Inferno - turns out I have bitten off a pretty big project over all but I will persevere; mainly because I like it but also I don't think this type of thing is on the internet. Well - we know that isn't true, chances are if it has been thought of, it has been done before. When you think of something that hasn't, you'll usually end up being a millionaire. I don't see them pounds rolling in at the moment hence my apprehension.

So if you can't tell, by the title, this is pretty much a catch up week so you are probably going to find this'll be pretty hefty over all.. The worst part is that I have only taken one picture and that was today when I realised I need to catch up with myself. I have three others that I can think of to add at the moment.. This is probably going to be in the most random order ever as well then.. Pfft, let's just see how it goes really. Also pictures 671 all the way to 677.. Hurrah!

Now if I think back far enough, the bank holiday.. We were cleaning. I know it isn't the most exciting use of your bank holiday but we like destroyed all aspects of dirt and old stuff that we don't need which was oddly satisfying. I quite like washing up - which people say is weird, especially as we have access to a dishwasher - but I get this odd sense of satisfaction from seeing something go from being dirty to shiny and clean. So I guess that is one good side of us doing this sort of Spring cleaning, I guess it is that time of year so maybe we partook in this tradition without even knowing it..

Day 671
We also had a cheeky little trip out to Frankie and Benny's as we had a voucher for £15 off the bill, which was quite awkward because the reason we got it.. Was because of a complaint we made because of poor service. I think I mentioned this before, because we went there for the lunch menu - quite late on in the day - but ended up being in there for about 3 hours? When we showed the waitress this voucher, they seemed to know it was from a complaint, so maybe that is the only way you get one of them? They even went as far as to ask if it was that restaurant that we had the problem in!

Now, the waitress we had, we have been served by her before and she is really good, checks in on you and all that jazz. So we lied and said we got it from another location. I have this strong feeling the manager basically went - make sure they get taken care of because we've had to give them money. Which would be nice but a shame at the same time was pretty awkward. For example, she gave us a larger glass of drink than what we ordered. She is having to be extra nice to us for something she didn't do which is unfair but at the same time, it might just be because she does this for everyone. Either way - if you are reading this, remember us being there etc. bravo! You go girl or something motivational.

So, I parted ways with something this week, a friend who has been with me for a number of years with many memories. That's right - my Xbox 360 *insert dramatic music*. As much as I loved it, it was time for it to go because since I have had my Xbox One, I have not played it all that much; maybe twice in the last 4-5 months. The main reason I was holding onto it was because of Dark Souls, but know the Scholar of the First Sin edition is out for the Xbox One, I can still play it. Not only that, but with all the DLC, new layouts and also 60 FPS! I know it'll mainly be the same game, but I am happy to be able to play it on the new system. That game was the reason I held onto my 360, because it wasn't being released on next gen! It is odd though, the games I want to get new art ones I had on my 360, just to be played on the Xbox One.. I don't know why and it doesn't make sense but I have a feeling I will enjoy it better. I have no clue.

Day 672 & 673
I am so excited to announce that the world of cats will be returning to my blog! I have posted pictures of my late cat Speedy who had to be put down last year, and since my parents have always been of the opinion not to get any more. Now, they are in the process of rescuing two new cats from Battersea! I am so excited, here are the lovely little things that will be no doubt gracing your presence.

I was a little confused because they went from saying no cats to planning to adopt two, there is a story behind it which I would very much like to share with you. So they were looking at the top cat, Bella, online on the website. She is 8 years old and looks like on of our old cats, Bruno who ran away. The same pattern in terms of the black and white fur you can see. They went up to visit her and were let into the pen to have a fuss and see how she was and things like that. At this point, this is when the second cat, Gracey, came over and just sat and stared at them. Meowed. She looks exactly like Speedy, and Grace is the name of my Nan who has recently passed away - something which I haven't mentioned before. It is things like this that makes me believe in fate because she is a spitting image for the old cat, and appears to have the personality of my Nan - a little bit grumpy but knows what she likes.

It is going to be so exciting though, pretty much has been a cat in the the house for as long as I can remember so it'll be nice to have some back. I am probably going to bombard you with cat pictures now, but you'll welcome them with open arms because you are the internet.

I really like the new update they have done to the YouTube player, overlaying the controls on the video itself. I know it is only a small change but basically, it makes the video a teeny tiny bit bigger, not so much that it'll make a great difference to your viewing experience but is nice to have it permanently on a slightly bigger platform. Plus, the controls themselves look much nicer and polished and blend in nicely. So, if you haven't noticed, you probably will next time you watch something!

Day 674
Keep it with the animal theme for the pictures off of the back of the previous two. I don't know how well you are going to see it, I can because I obviously took the picture.. But in the middle you can just see the back and tail of a 'friendly' grey squirrel? It does kind of blend in pretty well with the wall but it is there.. I like to think this image will cause a lot of people to lean really closely to their computer screen or possibly to the mobile phone screens.

This little fella, sort of followed us along a path. We were walking across this walkway, which leads on to a bridge to take your across a river and this wall is running alongside it for about a third of the way as it is the border to a park/public garden type thing. He was running along it in his squirrelly ways, always a little bit ahead of us. At one point, it was pretty scary, he just stopped dead and turned to face us. We looked it straight in the eye and I honestly thought it was going to jump and was a little bit scared. After that he kept on running, we also got to enjoy watching him leap across a break in the wall and his little tail flailed in the wind. The path itself is pretty thin, the other side is a fence onto a carpark so when I stopped to take this picture - multiple times as the little blighter wouldn't stay still when I wanted to snap him - I kind of got in someones way.. I always feel self conscious taking pictures of things in public, especially things like this where he may not have been able to say what I was snapping.. Then again, it is better than running around taking pictures of myself!

Day 675
Now I love films, and the cinema. I know at the end of the day, you are going out of your way to watching something you can watch at home, technically cheaper without over priced snacks and being in a room of people who could potentially be annoying - but there is something about the experience which is awesome. I have been fortunate enough recently to be able to renew my Cineworld card for a full year, so I will now be a premium member and get my black card through! Luckily, with my work, I can get there years membership for a discounted price so it works out much cheaper that the £15.99 a month which you pay otherwise. At this point in time, my card is still active until.. Well today technically, being Monday morning. Just got to wait for my new card, but we are seeing Pitch Perfect 2 this Saturday which is going to be awesome!

Today we went and watched The Age of Adaline and it was pretty good. I think it is a film which you only need to watch once, it is a romantic film with an interesting story point in it. Spoilers here by the way..

Basically, Adaline is in an accident and is struck by lightning with a certain set of circumstances causing her to stop ageing. She then goes on to run away from everything for a good 60 years because people were trying to chase her and obviously, people would notice if you weren't ageing. It then turns into the classic, she falls in love but can't commit because she doesn't want to have no future with this person; until she changes her mind and conveniently - sounds bad I know - is in an accident and has electricity administered to her via a paramedic. I enjoyed how the story discretely told itself with the assistance of a voice over to say why it happened and that a scientific discovery in 2035 explained what happened to her. You have to be 'dead' and have a core temperature of 87 degrees and have some sort of electric pulse administered to you to stop the process. A lot of people have said it is little inconsistent as it says it stops the ageing process but then shouldn't stop her dying or developing problems related to age but.. For the purposes of the film it works of course. I would recommend it personally, more of a date film?

It was awkward because the two people behind me to the left were kissing as you do - apparently - in the back row of the cinema.. I don't mind just when they were I could hear it and it was making me a tad uncomfortable.. Especially when the girls legs appeared over the top of the chairs on our row; far too horizontal to watch a film properly!

Day 676
So, Happy Meals. They caused this to happen, and orange tower of Jenga bricks in front of Mortal Kombat X. Sounds like an every day occurrence of course?

At this point in time I was actually farming an achievement.. You have to watch all the different ways to die in the Test Your Might tower where you smash different things by spamming the buttons on the controller.. Really takes it out of your hands. The Happy Meals are giving away mini versions of poplar board games, we ended up with two Jenga ones. I feel like as soon as you order a Happy Meal as an adult, the server assumes you don't care about the toy - of course we do. I mean, I wasn't too bothered because you only got 12 bricks otherwise, enough for four layers. You can't take the middle bricks out, I don't know if it is the plastic but it is a pain, you can only really have take from the side but with such a short tower, you options will run out quick. Eventually you would end up with a tower like this! We made it this way, rather than playing it. Apparently there is mini Cluedo as well but I don't know how they would work.. There is an app as well, I guess that adds to it.

So the elections were this week.. I am not going to bother getting into it because politics are far too confusing for me to handle, just because it is a lot of mind games. The policies themselves seem simple enough, we want to do X, Y and Z. The way they get them to happen however is completely different because everyone will say yes or no and fight and protest and bah.. All that jazz. It was also a surprise to see three of the main leaders step down, I can understand why because they haven't managed to get into power in two terms which is 10 years basically out of the government.. This is why I have heard so many people call for proportional representation because UKIP came second in a lot of places but only won a couple of seats meaning they get no real say about anything! Any way - move on Matt. Politics is crazy.

Day 677
Let's top this all off with a little gaming section. I have always been a great fan of turn based games like Final Fantasy, Lost Odyssey (vastly overlooked by many I feel..) and Sonny (internet game, go check it out). I have recently began playing two of these, one on my phone which is shown below. It is Angry Birds Epic, which is interesting as they have introduced a lot of elements like crafting and mixing yet kept the consistency of characters and enemies and the star rating system. Yet they've changed gameplay completely by turning it turn based.

The other is on the Xbox One and was a games for gold free download a couple of months ago it must have been. It is called Child of Light - I would have used this picture but I want to save it for when I have played it more. It is a really nice game, with an original art style and storyline where the gameplay is heavily based on travelling, exploration, puzzle solving and an intricate fighting system. It is really well put together but I just find it odd that I have never really heard of it before, I would've though I have somewhere. Maybe it is just me who likes it and that is why, being made by Ubisoft probably didn't give it too much of the lime light either! I would recommend it, I have no clue how much it is to download - as I mentioned I got it free so.. Hurrah to me.

I shall end it hear, with my week wrapped up a tad early in the morning but.. I couldn't leave it more than a week. Too much guilt would've eaten me up! Thanks for reading and I will of course, Blog you later.
